Do you run both XP and Vista ? Or have you tried to tweak XP to make it as beautiful as Vista?

If yes, you will be happy to hear that the Vista Sidebar Gagdet is available for Windows XP now!

Yep, this is not a screenshot of Windows Vista, it’s a tweaked XP. You can download the Sidebar gagdet at DeviantArt, thanks to joshoon!

The gadget is using the original Vista Sidebar, so you can also get more Gadgets from the Windows Live Gallery. By the way, did you know that you can convert Google gadgets to Vista or XP? This little tool (called Amnesty Generator) will help you to get all the cool Google gadgets! I am going to write a review and tutorial soon how to use it, so stay tuned!

One of the new Windows 7 features is called AeroSnap, which improves the management of desktop windows. You can maximize/minimize desktop windows by dragging a window to the taskbar; if you drag it to the left side of the screen it will automatically fill half of the screen. This can be helpful if you have to switch between applications a lot or if you want to split windows.
For designers this might come in handy to place working tools on the right side of the screen and the image itself on the left side. By the way it will also work on two monitors!

More and more tinker levels have been created. It’s actually pretty nice to see so much involvement and we definetly had some great submissions so far. You are able to find all of our tinker levels here.

Ross created two packages of new tinker levels:

I created 8 custom Tinker levels. I love this game! I was up for hours making them, they even challenged me trying to validate them all. You can view my website to get hints and to tell me what you think about my levels. I have a guestbook and a form that you can fill out. I’ll even send solutions to the levels if you want. Download

I finished another 5 levels. Some of them are a bit silly, but they are all validated. You can visit my website at http://webchurchnike.tripod.com/tinker and let me know how you did on each level or if you need some help. I have hints for each level on the site. I’ve even posted some videos and pictures for certain levels. Download

Unfortunately his first uploads were not working at first. As Ross stated correctly, you shouldn’t use special characters like spaces or foot signs in the filename or I will have to rename them manually.

Today I want to feature some of our visitors on this blog.

b3ck, from http://b3ck.com submitted his first tinker level through our submit system.

It’s a fun level and very tricky, I loved playing it.

We received another submission from Iconshock.com a few ago. Iconshock is the best resource for professional icons on the web. I really love their icons, even if they do not come for free. They have a lot of freebies as well though!

Cool Vista Gadgets: Vista Weather Gadgets

Well I’m sure plenty of your already use some of those gadgets, they are just awesome.
It’s great if you don’t have to watch the weather tv channel in order to know how the weather will be, thanks to Vista sidebar. There are quite a lot of different weather gadgets available, that’s why I thought I’d write a little review.

First of all I’m going to review the Weather Gadget by CobbNZ.COM…

+ Open Source
+ Uses data from http://www.weather-display.com/
+ Background changes accordingly to the current weather
+ Advanced Information (Rainfall, Barometic Pressure, Humidity, Graphs, etc)
+ Shows a small compass displaying the wind direction and speed, very good idea!
+ Shows weather tendences
+ Display data dynamically using a cool transition effect
-Not that many international cities yet (they are working on it)
-No confirmation message if you select a city, might confuse some people
-Some tool tips are only displayed for miliseconds and then disappear
