IE8 in 2nd beta phase - already a RAM-hog

Beta testers have reported that the IE8 is consuming more memory than XP alone. It is using about 400 MB of memory, which is absolutely not reasonable…
It looks like IE8 will be final in November (source: zdnet.com), hopefully they can improve the memory consumption a little bit until then. The Internet Explorer 8 is currently in the 2nd beta phase. If you want to take a look yourself you can download the beta here.
Myself I still prefer the Firefox2 because of the various plugins that are available. I do not plan to upgrade to FF3 any time soon although - the plugins that I need are not supported (yet).
