Easily take ownership of files/folders in Vista
Posted: Aug 11 | Filed under: Tweaks
Taking ownership of certain files is a real pain and requires many clicks. To make this process a lot easier there are two cool methods:
1. Add the function to take ownership to your context menu (the menu that appears if you right-click a file). To do that simply download this file and double-click it. Confirm the following message and the entry “Take Ownership” should from now on appear in your context menu.
However this did not work in all cases, so if it does not work for you simply follow the second way…

Vista Aero Themes: New Aero 2
Posted: Aug 06 | Filed under: Aero Themes
Very cool icons that fit perfectly to the wallpaper. The big icons are mac-like (that was probably the intention of the author as well hehe), which is becoming more and more popular in modern themes. In contrast the icons to close, minimize/maximize are very small and absolutely go well together with the other navigation icons. As the author stated he is using Tclock to increase the size of the clock on the taskbar. Overall a great addition to my vista aero themes!
Beyond Vista: Windows Midori

Microsoft is currently developing three other operating systems aside from Vista.
They plan to split it up, so that there is a Windows for the average consumer and a Windows for companies. This does not mean that there are going to different versions as we know it from Vista (Home, Business, Ultimate, etc), it does mean that they are building completely different systems with completely different intentions.

Vista Aero Themes: Aero Shine
Posted: Aug 03 | Filed under: Aero Themes
This theme definetly sets itself apart from other themes. It’s very refreshing and innovative. The twirled start orb might not be everyone’s taste, but the shell layout is just hot. Some parts of the windows are transparent and shiny, just as we like it. The copy animation is completely new and is done very well. Overall a very clean theme that is worth installing! A++
Vista system tools: Snipping
Posted: Jul 30 | Filed under: Vista News
Did you know of the Vista Tool “Snipping” ?
This tool makes it possible to take screenshots in a matter of seconds. Earlier Windows versions only offered a “Print” key to capture screenshots. With Vista you are able to do a custom selection anywhere on your screen to copy it anywhere.
You can find the snipping tool under “Start/All Programs/Extras/Snipping tool”
Once you opened it you can draw on your screen or do a selection with predefined forms.
Pretty cool, huh?
