One of the new Windows 7 features is called AeroSnap, which improves the management of desktop windows. You can maximize/minimize desktop windows by dragging a window to the taskbar; if you drag it to the left side of the screen it will automatically fill half of the screen. This can be helpful if you have to switch between applications a lot or if you want to split windows.
For designers this might come in handy to place working tools on the right side of the screen and the image itself on the left side. By the way it will also work on two monitors!

Windows 7 will support touch-screen panning, which means that you can move objects on a desktop with your own fingers on a touchscreen-enabled device. Touchscreens have been around for probably 30 years or longer, but it is still very impressive to see it.

Well after struggling finding a name for the vista successor Microsoft decided to simply call it “Windows 7″. The codename becomes the actual name.

After all it’s a pretty reasonable choice, because for the enduser it is way easier to distinguish between the different Windows versions if the name is a plain number. Will Windows 7.0 be better than Windows 6.0 also knows as Vista ?

7 is a magical number, but actually it’s Windows 6.1 since Windows 7 will be more like Vista SE. Windows 7 will be completely backwards-compatible to Vista, there aren’t enough significant changes to justify a new kernel version 7.0.

Did you know that there is already a Windows 7 theme available for download? Yes, I was surprised as well, you can find more information at http://windows7themes.net

Unfortunately unknown processes can establish a connection through the internet to send personal data to a hacker and usually there are also a few processes that consume a lot of resources. Wouldn’t it be great to know the exact location of that process to investigate it?
