Run Windows XP under Vista: Virtual Box

24 July 2008 No Comment

Did you ever come in the situation that you needed XP instead of Vista, because some applications did not support Vista ? Not all tools have been ported over to Vista yet, so I’m sure that you will find the following tools useful…

If you own Windows XP as well you can easily install XP using Virtual Box, but there is also a free solution.

The other way is to get the Virtual PC from Microsoft including a XP Image that you can use for free. This comes in handy in many situations and is a must-have for web developers.

You can download the Virtual Box here

The Virtual PC comes in handy for web developers who want to run the IE6 on XP. In order to run XP you will need a Virtual PC Image. To get an overview over the available images, which you can download for free, visit this site.

Do you want a tutorial on how to setup a Virtual PC ? For the Virtual PC I can recommend this site. If you need a tutorial to setup the Virtual Box, feel free to ask!
