Tweaking the Windows Vista Task Manager
To improve your system security and speed it helps to find out more about the processes that run on your PC. Unfortunately unknown processes can establish a connection through the internet to send personal data to a hacker and usually there are also a few processes that consume a lot of resources. Wouldn’t it be great to know the exact location of that process to investigate it?
You won’t believe it, but there is a built-in function that is simply disabled by default which you can use to find out the path to system processes.
1. Open the Task Manager
2. Goto “View” – “Select Columns”
3. Scroll down and check “Image Path Name” and click on apply.
4. Done!
The task manager is a useful tool for everyone! You can use it to track your uptime and memory/cpu usage, to identify/start/stop system process or to close applications.
If you want to customize your task manager here is a great skin for it.
You can download the skin here.
Enjoy
